Participant-Directed Program Overview

Sometimes it can be hard for people or families to find providers. Participant-Directed Services let you hire people you trust or who speak in your language. You can also schedule when the provider comes and supervise some of the Individual Program Plan (IPP) services.

Who the Participant-Directed Option Serves

You must live in your own home, your family home, or a community living arrangement.

With the Participant-Directed Option, You Can…

Some Participant-Directed Services were available before COVID. These services will continue after the pandemic is over, including:

• Access respite services
• Choose daycare
• Get non-medical transportation, day services, and nursing. 

Additional services have been added temporarily, during the pandemic. These include:

• Personal assistance
• Independent living skills
• Supported employment services

How GT Independence Supports You

We take care of the details. This includes all of the paperwork, like taxes and payments to your providers. We also handle all background screenings for your support providers. Our goal is to give you the support you need to self-direct your own care.
