Frail Elderly HCBS Waiver Program Overview

The Frail Elderly (FE) waiver program provides an alternative to nursing home care. You can stay involved in your community and get the support you need–right in your own home. The program’s goal is to help you stay independent, regardless of age or ability. In the program, you can receive support that includes personal care, household tasks, and health services.

To get support, you hire people you trust to provide your services. Sometimes these workers can be friends or even family–and they’ll also receive payment for their work. It’s important for you to feel comfortable with who provides your support and when and where that support is provided. Our goal is to help you control your care. Because you know you best.

Who the Frail Elderly Wiaver Program Serves

  • People at least 65 years old
  • People who meet the Medicaid nursing facility threshold score
  • People who are financially eligible for Medicaid
