Community Alternatives Program for Disabled Adults

CAP/DA helps you live the life you choose with consumer direction. If you are an adult with a disability or meet other criteria, you pick the goods and services that meet your needs. You get a budget from Medicaid, and you choose how to spend it. Under the program, you decide who will take care of you, when, and where. You can hire an in-home aide or get help with meals, transportation, and personal care. You can also get special medical supplies or equipment, things to make it easier to get around your home, and other services that help you be more independent.

To enroll, you’ll need to qualify, complete an assessment, and be trained on how to manage your plan. The program also provides a case manager to help you through the process.

Who CAP/DA Serves

  • Adults 18 or older who have a disability
  • Those who are at least 65 and need a certain level of institutional care
