Medicaid providers offer valuable services to participants who need them. Participants who go through the Department of Social Services (DSS) know that their providers are well qualified. That’s because DSS requires many of their providers to be credentialed.
GT Independence now verifies provider agency qualifications for DSS. We do this through our credentialing process for Medicaid providers who are paid directly by the state through claims submitted in Gainwell. We review agencies that provide services under the following programs:
The credentialing process starts with an application and supporting documents.

Before you can provide Independent Living Skills Training (ILST) or Recovery Assistant (RA) services through the CT Department of Social Services (DSS) ABI waiver(s), you must complete DSS-approved ABI provider training. If you are a direct hire employee working for a participant, or if you work for a credentialed provider agency, you can take this training through GT Independence.
To request access to training materials, please email providercredentialing@gtsd.org and include your name, contact information, and the name of your credentialed provider agency (if applicable).
Each prospective Support and Planning Coach must complete required Person-Centered Training and EVV Training before they can begin providing services.
To request access to EVV training materials, please email providercredentialing@gtsd.org and include your name, contact information, and the name of your credentialed provider agency (if applicable).
