Maria is nominated for being Gloria’s caregiver. “She is almost 101 years old. This amazing lady raised me and my four siblings making us good people. Now it’s my turn to give her just a little of what she did for us,” says Maria.

Lisa is nominated for being the caregiver of Jennifer’s mom. “Lisa gives my mom the most professional quality care. I appreciate Lisa more than any words could say, and I really hope she wins this award because she definitely deserves it!”

Jo Dishaw would like to nominate Kent. Jo says, “Kent has worked with our son for 3 and a half years. Our son (Ollie) is VERY comfortable to be with Kent. Kent gets involved with helping Ollie be out in the community and interacting with others. He also helps Ollie learn OT, PT, and speech skills. Ollie enjoys learning and hanging out with ‘Uncle Kent’!!”

Katelyn is nominated for being Kelly’s caregiver. “She is absolutely a blessing, she goes above and beyond her duties. She never misses a day and meets my every need without hesitation. She has saved my life with her quick response more than once. I’d be nothing without her,” says Kelly.

Julie is nominated for being a caregiver for over a decade. She works seven days a week to ensure her clients are taken care of. “It has been said that there is no greater honor than to take care of those in need. I truly believe this and press on even during tough times,” says Julie.

Johnnie is nominated for being Gina’s caregiver. Gina says, “He goes above and beyond his duties! Johnnie does my laundry, grocery shopping, cooks all my meals, cleans my house from top to bottom, picks up my medications, takes me to my doctor appointments, and helps me bathe. He’s really an awesome guy and caregiver.”

Annie G.

Annie is nominated for being a caregiver to Jerome. She is truly an example of faith and love in action. She is the sole caretaker for Jerome and selflessly cares for him around the clock-24 hours a day seven days a week. Devin, Annie’s grandchild, says, “She handles all these responsibilities tirelessly and without complaint. Without her unconditional love and care, it would be impossible for our family to thrive. No one is more deserving of recognition than our superwoman, Annie.”

Denise is nominated for taking care of soon to be 100-year-old Lucy. “Denise is the best, she’s such a blessing to our family. We love having her around and wouldn’t know what to do without her,” says Teri, Lucy’s daughter.
Brandon R.

Brandon R.

Brandon is nominated by Jennifer for being her caregiver. Jennifer says, “I used to be a nurse until I ended up with a severe brain injury. When they wanted to call in hospice, Brandon found me a new surgeon who was able to save my life. Now, he takes care of me 24/7 and helps me with everything from laundry, cooking, and being the best step dad to our kids. GT Independence made it possible for him to get a job taking care of me. I couldn’t ask for a better caregiver–he saved my life.”

Hannah is nominated for being the caregiver for Elaine. Elaine says, “I’m thankful for her because she puts her life on hold to share it with me. She was an angel sent from heaven. She goes above and beyond to make everyone’s day better. Thank you, Hannah, for all your hard work.”

Prudence

Prudence is nomindated as the caregiver for Trinity. Hope, Trinity’s mom, says, “Trinity feels so blessed to have such a caring caregiver in Prudence. They play games, dance, laugh and share their life experiences with each other. We are so thankful to feel secure in knowing that our daughter is getting the best care possible when we are not around. Prudence is one of a kind and I am so thankful that she is part of our lives.”
