Jessica is nominated for being a caregiver to Whitney for almost 12 years. “She has even re-arranged her other work schedule in order to keep her time with Whitney! They volunteer together and are always out trying new things! Whitney is a better person for having Jessica in her life!”

Erin is nominating for caring for her little sisters. “I’m blessed to get to help with my little sisters. When I first started, my sisters were younger and had a harder time talking and explaining things, so having someone we didn’t know coming in the house made my mom a bit nervous (and me too). GT Independence has put us at ease. There’s really nothing better than being around family.”

Beverly is nominated by her son Steven. “I was injured almost 23 years ago in a car accident. My mom has been taking care of all my needs from the very moment of my injury. We have cried, prayed and laughed through many challenging situations. It’s been a struggle, but I’ve learned time heals all wounds. Mom, I love you for for being you, loving, caring, giving yourself everyday to make my life a little easier,” says Steven.

Madison is nominated for being a caregiver to Devaree’s son. “She’s kind, caring, and so supporting of my son! She keeps him on track with his goals, all the while they’re having a blast! I can’t think of a more selfless and deserving individual,” says Devaree.

Jordan is nominated by her mother. “She’s truly a God-sent angel. She took me to church, doctor specialist, hospital, shopping, and other things that were too difficult for me to handle on my own. She goes the extra mile and always puts my needs first. She is patient, understanding, and forgiving.”

Deb is nominated for being Joe and Nathan’s caregiver. She works endless hours to ensure that Joe and Nathan can achieve all of their dreams. Deb always offers a helping hand and a positive attitude. She strives to always do her best and gives 110%.

Sonia is nominated for being Heidi’s caregiver. “She goes over and beyond to help covering many extra shifts. We have lots of fun and laughs together. The first day I met her I knew without a doubt she would be by my side and become so much more than a caregiver. She is a part of my family,” says Heidi.

Rene is nominated for caring for her client since she was an infant. “I don’t see her as a client but as one of my grandkids. I make sure she has her needs met and that she is involved as much as possible in numerous activities. I don’t see her for disability but for her potential.”

Nicole is nominated for being Ezra’s caregiver. She has been caring for Ezra his entire life. She is a caring, loving, and giving person who loves Ezra with her whole heart.

Miki is nominated for being a caregiver for around 10 years. “This is Emily, and I absolutely love getting to be part of her journey. I’ve got to witness her first crawling, first steps, first words. She has came so far in almost 7 years. She is my mini best friend,” says Miki.
