No matter your situation, self-direction helps you hire the long-term care and support that’s right for you.

People choose to self-direct their care for many reasons. GT Independence is here to support your decision. You make all the important choices—like who to hire, when to schedule services, how to manage your care, and even who to fire if things aren’t working out. We take care of the paperwork and are here to answer questions you may have.

In Oregon, you can choose Agency with Choice. Agency with Choice services are available to eligible people through the Office of Aging and People with Disabilities ( APD) and the Oregon Health Authority (OHA).

Oregon Agency With Choice

Oregon Agency with Choice gives older adults, people with disabilities, and people with mental health conditions more support in managing their in-home care services. Through this program, you can choose who provides your care and help train them to meet your needs.

You share employer responsibilities with a partner agency. While you choose and direct your caregiver, the agency handles tasks such as hiring, background checks, payroll, and required paperwork.

This program helps you stay in control of your services while receiving extra support with employer-related responsibilities.
