With self-direction, you have the right to live the life you choose. Everyone’s situation is different. For some, self-direction means receiving full-time support from someone they trust–right in their home and community. For others, it might mean hiring a friend to drive them to get groceries or community events a few times a week.

You choose what type of support you want and need. Because you deserve to live the life you choose. GT is here to make that easier.

How GT Independence Can Help You

GT Independence is a financial management service (FMS). This means that you decide who provides the support—and we handle the details. For example, you hire caregivers you know and trust. We support you by taking care of all the necessary paperwork, like timesheets, paychecks, and payroll.

At GT, we believe everyone should be able to decide who supports you and your loved ones. GT is here to help you learn about how to control your own support in New Jersey. So you have the information to decide what is best for you.

This ensures you always have access to the information you need to make important decisions. We can also support more than 200 languages on request.
At GT, we’re ready to assist people receiving services, caregivers, case managers, and all health plan staff.

With the GT Portal, you can easily keep track of your services and check on payments to your caregivers. If you need to hire a caregiver, you can use Find a Caregiver on the portal to look up potential people near you.

And the The GT App lets caregivers log their hours on or offline. We take care of the details, so you can focus on living your life.

Want to support people in their own homes (and get paid)? We can add you to Find a Caregiver, our online database. Potential employers near you can find you in the database send you job offers. Contact us, and we’ll help you get started.*

Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE)

Get the support you need right in your home and community. With this program, you can hire your own caregivers, such as people you love and trust. Your caregivers can help you with tasks, such as transportation, self-care, and more.
