Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA)
The Community Supports Waiver helps people with developmental disabilities live independent lives. Rather than going to group homes, you can stay in your own home and community. To make this possible, the waiver provides many different services. This includes the ability to hire employed caregivers.
To get on the waiver, you start by applying. If you’re accepted, you’ll receive a letter from your regional office. During a person-centered planning meeting, a coordinator of community services (CCS) will help you choose the best services.
The goal of this waiver is to help you increase your independence. All so you can live the life you choose.
Self-direction helps people live the life they choose. That includes choosing vendors that best fit their preferences. With this service, you can get the services, equipment, or supplies you need.
