Florida’s Long-Term Care (LTC) program provides a variety of services for those who are eligible for the participant-direction option (PDO). These services include personal care, homemaker services, meal delivery, caregiver training, and more often designed to support living at home or in community settings.

Structured Family Caregiving Program

Structured Family Caregiving (SFC) is a Medicaid funded program in Florida that lets certain family members get paid to care for an older or disabled loved one at home. This program is managed through Florida’s Medicaid Waivers.

Three Steps to Get Started

To participate in Florida’s Long-Term Care program:

  1. Reach out to your local AAA (or ADRC) and get assessed for long-term care Medicaid eligibility.

  2. Discuss PDO with your case manager

  3. Once you’ve been approved for long-term care, pick your managed care organization
